December 09, 2024, São Paulo: IHS Brazil, part of the IHS Holding Limited (NYSE: IHS) (“IHS Towers”) group, one of the largest independent owners, operators and developers of shared communications infrastructure in the world by tower count, has successfully implemented the first stage of its 5G and 4G indoor mobile phone coverage system at Campo Belo Station on Line 5-Lilac of the São Paulo subway, operated by ViaMobilidade.
In partnership with mobile network operators (MNOs), the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) and 5G active antennas solution implemented by IHS Brazil will help enable robust and reliable coverage and provide metro passengers with high speed and low latency internet connectivity across Line 5-Lilac, including on its 12 underground stations.
Using IHS Brazil’s expertise in indoor coverage systems, all 17 stations across Line 5-Lilac are scheduled to be connected over the next 12-18 months, bringing digital mobility to one of the busiest areas of São Paulo.
